Board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Retamozo is a general and vascular surgeon who has been practicing since 2005. He completed his doctor of medicine at Texas Tech University and his general surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Dr. Retamozo also completed a one-year fellowship in vascular surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He has been a vascular surgery attending physician at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA since 2006 and has privileges to practice at Community Hospital of San Bernardino. Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Retamozo worked as a registered nurse in surgical and cardiac intensive care.
Dr. Kim joined Cal Med Physicians and Surgeons after completing his general surgery residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton and Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Fontana. He received extensive training and experience while completing more than 5,000 surgical cases during his five-year residency.
His training at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, a county-owned and operated facility, enabled him to treat numerous blunt and penetrating trauma and acute care surgery cases. While training at Kaiser, Dr. Kim learned to work in an integrated hospital system with a range of specialties including general, vascular, colorectal, thoracic, endocrine and robotic surgery. Dr. Kim earned his doctor of medicine degree at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Whealon joined Cal Med Physicians and Surgeons after completing a colorectal surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and general surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine. During his fellowship, Dr. Whealon learned and honed minimally invasive and robotic surgical approaches to the treatment of colorectal diseases.
As a general surgery resident, Dr. Whealon completed a one-year research fellowship in the University of California, Irvine Department of Surgery and published several articles in the fields of colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery and vascular surgery. A former software developer before he started his career in medicine, Dr. Whealon earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Lee is a general and foregut surgeon with 10 years of experience as a surgeon. A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Lee joined Cal Med Physicians and Surgeons in 2016 after serving for six years as a surgeon at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. As an attending physician at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) in Colton, Dr. Lee handles general and endoscopic-related cases as well as trauma surgery.
He was recently named Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program at ARMC. During his tenure at Creighton, Dr. Lee held the positions of Associate and Assistant Professor in the Division of General Surgery and Director of the Esophageal Lab. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Maryland and his surgery residency at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He completed his doctor of medicine degree at Queen’s University School of Medicine in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
